| How does Hostus maintain it's servers? | ||
|
Our servers are backed up externally every night. We also employ fault tolerance with internal mirroring on all data drives which prevents any down time should a hard drive (or drives fail). |

| Do I have telnet access? | ||
|
Telnet access is currently only available on our Linux servers and it is not enabled by default. Should you need access, request it on your order form or by sending an email to our Support department. |

| Are website statistics available? | ||
|
We have acquired an extremely detailed, robust statistics package that we make available to our clients as an Add-On feature. We understand that not everyone needs all the features of our statistics package, and we of course allow you to use any of the commercially available services (such as HitBox or SiteTracker) so long as they do not require you to run an application on our server. If you need that type of tracking information, we strongly suggest you subscribe to the local statistics package. |

| Are CGI scripts provided on the server? | ||
|
There are several CGI applications/scripts that are provided on the server. We provide counters, form mailers, bulletin boards, real-time chat scripts and statistics gathering programs. |

| Are CGI scripts allowed on the server? | ||
|
CGI scripts that are either provided by Hostus or have been cleared by Hostus are allowed. CGI scripts or applications that have not been cleared or provided by us are NOT allowed and will be deleted without warning. There are a number of reasons for this condition of service. Perl scripts are not inherently secure and may pose a security risk to our servers. Third party applications may also consume large amounts of computer time and/or cause the computer to crash. Both of these potential problems effect more than one user and make pre-authorization necessary. |

| Can I use ASP? | ||
|
ASP is allowed, provided you do not require an unauthorized program to make the ASP work. If you need an ASP component that we do not currently provide, please mail Support and we will do everything we can to remedy the problem. |

| Does Hostus support FrontPage? | ||
|
Hostus is proud to offer FrontPage 2000 support as an included capability of all our Hosting Packages. |
||
|

||
| Can I use Perl? | ||
|
You may use Perl if the script is either offered, authorized or modified by Hostus. Please see "Are CGI scripts allowed on the server" above. |
